Angels’ Josh Hamilton out with left knee soreness

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Josh Hamilton has left the Los Angeles Angels’ game against Detroit in the fourth inning with left knee soreness.

Hamilton grounded out in his only at-bat Friday night. The left fielder also made a tentative play on J.D. Martinez’s long fly ball in the second inning.

Efren Navarro replaced him in left to begin the fourth.

Hamilton was batting .326 in the Angels’ last 11 games, boosting his season average to .293. The former AL MVP has just five homers and 29 RBIs.
