81-year-old saved after several days stuck in tub

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police have rescued an 81-year-old Colorado woman who spent several days stranded in her bathtub, apparently after taking a tumble.

Worried neighbors called Colorado Springs police on Wednesday because they hadn’t seen her recently. An officer found her later that day, dehydrated and disoriented and unable to get out of the tub.

She was taken to a hospital. Her name and condition haven’t been released. Police say she lives alone.

Police said Friday it’s not clear how long she was stuck but one neighbor hadn’t seen her for 11 days. The officer found newspapers and mail piled up at her door.

Neighbor Tom Wolf tells KRDO-TV (http://tinyurl.com/qdpku5j ) he decided to call police after noticing the woman’s flower garden was untended and her car hadn’t moved lately.
