Cubs starter Jackson leaves with apparent injury

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Cubs starter Edwin Jackson left Thursday night’s game against the San Diego Padres with no outs in the sixth inning because of cramping in his right hand.

With San Diego leading 3-1, Yasmani Grandal led off the sixth with a walk, then Will Venable singled to right.

Immediately after the hit, Cubs manager Rick Renteria and a trainer came to the mound, and Jackson left the game. He was replaced by Brian Schlitter.
