Mercedes chief breaks bones in biking crash

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Mercedes says its motorsport chief Toto Wolff will attend the Hungarian Grand Prix this week despite breaking several bones in a cycling crash in his native Austria.

The Formula One team says Wolff has fractures in his shoulder, collarbone, an elbow and a wrist after a crash involving several members of the team during an outing along the Danube. Wolff is still in a Vienna hospital but plans to attend the race on the Hungaroring outside Budapest on Sunday.

Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton did not take part.

Rosberg won the German GP on Sunday to stretch his lead in the drivers’ standings, while Hamilton was third and remains second overall. The series takes its summer break after the race in Hungary.
