Jaguars sign DB Belue, waive RB Blankenship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars signed rookie defensive back Deion Belue on Wednesday and waived rookie running back Beau Blankenship.

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound Belue played two seasons at Alabama after beginning his career at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He started his final two seasons with the Crimson Tide, totaling three interceptions, 13 passes defensed and 7 1/2 tackles for loss.

A native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Belue was a second-team NJCAA All-American in 2011. He totaled 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and an interception at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

The Jaguars signed Blankenship in May after he worked out during a two-day rookie minicamp.
