Pink parking space raise eyebrows

WASHINGTON — A Chinese shopping mall is offering parking spaces strictly for women.

The 10 spaces are painted in pink. They are about 30 centimeters wider than traditional parking spaces.

But The Wall Street Journal reports the move is creating a backlash from those who claim sexism.

Some critics claim the spaces are demeaning to women by suggesting they don’t park as well as men.

Others claim they prevent men from parking in perfectly good parking spaces.
