Royals 1B Eric Hosmer scratched with bruised hand

CHICAGO (AP) — Eric Hosmer has been scratched from the Kansas City Royals’ lineup against the Chicago White Sox with a bruised right hand.

Hosmer was hit on the hand by a pitch from Boston’s Jon Lester on Sunday at Fenway Park. The first baseman was in the original lineup Monday night batting third, but was removed about an hour before game time.

Billy Butler was switched from designated hitter to first base, and Salvador Perez went from catcher to DH. Perez has been dealing with a slight groin strain.

Perez also moved up to third in the batting order.
