WOODSTOCK, Va. (AP) — Local and state officials are considering forming a partnership to develop a state park outside Woodstock.

Seven Bends State Park was dedicated nine years ago. But the park’s development has stalled because of a lack of state funding. It’s closed to the public.

The Daily News-Record (http://bit.ly/1ns8cH8 ) reports that Shenandoah County and Woodstock officials plan to meet Monday with representatives of the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation to discuss forming a partnership.

The 1,066-acre park is located on the western slope of Powell Mountain. Its eastern side is bordered by the George Washington National Forest.
