2 wounded in shooting at Philadelphia playground

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia say a shooting at a playground has left two young men wounded.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says about 50 teens, young adults and some younger children were present when the gunfire erupted late Wednesday afternoon outside the Simons Community Recreation Center.

He says no children were hit.

Police say an 18-year-old man was struck in the groin and a 19-year-old man was hit in the thigh by the gunfire. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Small says based on the bullet casings found, at least 11 shots were fired.
