Smithsonian’s tarantulas named

WASHINGTON – The three new tarantulas at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History now have names.

The Smithsonian had people vote to name the trio.

Name options for the Brazilian Whiteknee Tarantula had been Stripes, Rio and Pouncer.

Lava, Pyro and Flash were the choices for the Mexican Fireleg tarantula.

The suggested names for the Bolivian Salmon tarantula were Urti, Webster, Flash and Spawn.
