Fire damages Silver Spring restaurant

WASHINGTON — A fire at a Silver Spring, Maryland, restaurant caused a road to close Tuesday morning.

A fire stared at Authentic Peruvian Charcoal Chicken Restaurant & Carry Out, located at 10118 Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring early Tuesday morning. Officials closed the southbound lanes of Colesville Road at University Bouleveard to fight the fire.

The fire was extinguished, but traffic delays remained for several hours. All lanes of Colesville Road reopened by about 8:30 a.m.

No one was injured in the blaze. Officials have not yet said what caused the fire or released information about the estimated cost of damage.
