White Sox 3B Gillaspie leaves with knee injury

CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox third baseman Conor Gillaspie has left a game against the Seattle Mariners with a bruised right knee.

Gillaspie went down in a heap after he was hit on his leg by a pitch from reliever Dominic Leone in the fifth inning. Gillaspie then got up and took a few shaky steps toward first before he was replaced by pinch-runner Leury Garcia.

Gillaspie reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances Sunday, with two walks and the hit by pitch.

Garcia stayed in to play third in the sixth.
