Ricciardo happy with ‘best third’

SILVERSTONE, England (AP) — Australian Daniel Ricciardo celebrated the “best third place” of his career on Sunday after grabbing a podium finish at the British Grand Prix.

The 25-year-old Red Bull driver produced an outstanding drive to prove his worth.

He said: “I’m not normally ecstatic with a third, but I am today … We did not have an awesome race car, but we used it well and played the game well with one stop.

“I feel good! This is like the best third place I’ve ever got. It was good fun for the last 37 laps. I was only nervous for the last two.”
