Man falls 30 feet along Potomac River

WASHINGTON – A man was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon with serious injuries after suffering a 30-foot fall along the Virginia shore of the Potomac River.

Montgomery County Fire and EMS says their rescue teams helped Fairfax County reach the man by water near Great Falls.

The injured man was taken to the hospital by a medical helicopter with a head injury.

The man is believed to be about 30 years old.

It’s not clear what led to the fall.
