Keselowski uses glue to seal gash in hand

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Brad Keselowski was racing Sunday with the gash in his hand from smashing a celebratory champagne bottle glued together.

Keselowski needed four stitches to close the wound he received during his Victory Lane celebration last week at Kentucky. He tried to open the bottle of champagne by hitting it against a podium, and the bottle broke and cut his hand.

The stitches were removed earlier this week and medical personnel used glue to seal the gash.

Keselowski said during a rain delay Sunday at Daytona International Speedway, “I feel like a puppet that somebody broke,” about the glue, and said his injury was a cautionary tale to drink beer instead of champagne. Keselowski is sponsored by Miller Lite.
