Riders killed in unrelated motorcycle crashes

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police are investigating two unrelated fatal motorcycle crashes.

Both occurred in the late afternoon on July Fourth. The first was around 5 p.m. in Silver Spring. Police say 43-year-old Kyle Faulkner of Beltsville struck a curb while riding his motorcycle on University Boulevard West and was thrown from the bike. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The second accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. in Burtonsville. Police say 33-year-old Carlos De Oliveira of Laurel was riding a motorcycle that crashed into a vehicle that was turning left onto Sandy Spring Road. A passenger on the motorcycle, 30-year-old Ebonie Cray of Silver Spring, was taken to a hospital, where she died. De Oliveira survived his injuries.

The crash is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
