Man, 24, charged in stabbing death of acquaintance

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — A 24-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old acquaintance in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County police say Pavel Ivanov of North Potomac was arrested Friday morning and charged with murder Friday night after the victim died of his wounds.

The victim is identified as 22-year-old Bryan Hall of Gaithersburg.

Police say Ivanov and Hall had agreed to meet in the parking lot of a residential community early Friday morning. They fought, and police say Ivanov stabbed Hall several times before fleeing in a vehicle.

Hall was taken to a trauma center, where he later died.
