Central Michigan players charged with retail fraud

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have offered to reduce charges against a Central Michigan football player if he testifies against a former teammate in a retail fraud case.

Andrew Flory caught 32 passes for 384 yards last season, ranking him second among the Chippewas.

Citing court documents, The Morning Sun reports (http://bit.ly/VJmVlR) that prosecutors would drop one of two second-degree retail fraud counts against Flory if he pleads guilty to one and to marijuana possession.

He also would have to cooperate in the prosecution of Ryan Oruche. The case is linked to a recent theft of DVDs from a Wal-Mart store.

Flory says he’s innocent. His attorney, Todd Levitt, declined to comment. The Associated Press left a message for Oruche’s lawyer.

Flory of Miramar, Florida, has been suspended indefinitely by the team. Oruche quit.
