Flyers re-sign backup G Ray Emery with 1-year deal

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed backup goaltender Ray Emery with a one-year contract.

The Flyers made the move Tuesday on the first day of free agency. They also signed minor league goalie Rob Zepp to a two-way, one-year deal.

Emery was 9-12-2 with two shutouts and a 2.96 goals-against average last season as Steve Mason’s backup.

He is 135-75-21 in his career with Ottawa, Anaheim, Chicago and two stints with the Flyers.
