Miss Maryland crowned

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Jade Kenny has won the Miss Maryland pageant and will compete in September for the crown of Miss America.

Pageant business manager Courtney Thomas says the 23-year-old winner represented Allegany County in the competition Saturday night in Hagerstown.

Ebony Sherrill representing Annapolis was runner-up.

Thomas says Kenny, who’s from the Eastern Shore, won the overall interview award and top evening gown award. She tied for the overall talent award.

The Miss America pageant will be held Sept. 14 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
