Authorities ID man found dead in Md. as Pa. man

HAMPSTEAD, Md. (AP) — Authorities say the death of a man whose body was found in a wooded area in Hampstead has been ruled a homicide.

The Maryland State Police on Saturday identified the man as 50-year-old Prakash Rampatsingh of Hanover, Pennsylvania. State Police say Rampatsingh died of a gunshot wound.

Officials say Rampatsingh’s body was found around 8 a.m. Friday along the border of a wooded area next to a grain field near the 3200 block of Falls Road. A crew working on a cellphone tower discovered the body.

Authorities say Rampatsingh worked for a property management company in Baltimore and was married with teenage children, but he and his wife were estranged.

Authorities are trying to determine when Rampatsingh was last seen alive.
