2 charged in Roanoke County credit card case

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Two Florida men face charges in Roanoke County after police discovered what they’re calling two large credit card counterfeiting operations.

The Roanoke Times reports (http://bit.ly/1qmhfuq ) that court records show William Olazabal Gomez is charged with six felony counts of possessing a credit card forgery device. Erlen Suarz Bosch is charged with conspiracy to commit credit card fraud. Preliminary hearings for the Miami men are set for July 24.

Police say apartment maintenance workers on June 19 noticed computers, electronics equipment and several boxes of unembossed credit cards in an otherwise mostly empty apartment. Roanoke County Detective E.J. Chidester wrote in court papers that officers arrived with a search warrant the next day and found Gomez printing and embossing cards.

Police seized about 3,800 blank or embossed cards from two apartments.
