Police find body in park near DC’s Union Station

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Capitol Police say they found the body of a man in a park near Union Station and the Capitol.

Television station WJLA reports police say the man was homeless and may have died as a result of the hot and humid conditions in recent days.

U.S. Capitol Police say they were called around 12:15 p.m. Friday to Lower Senate Park for a report of an unconscious man. Police briefly closed streets in the area as a result.

The body of the man, who was not identified, has been taken to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
