Cowboys sign Nwaneri, put Green on injured list

IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys signed veteran guard Uche Nwaneri on Friday and placed guard Tyronne Green on season-ending injured reserve.

Nwaneri was released by Jacksonville in March in a salary cap move after starting 63 of the past 64 games for the Jaguars. He didn’t miss a snap in 2013.

A fifth-round pick in 2007, Nwaneri started 92 of his 104 games in seven seasons with Jacksonville. His play deteriorated in recent years as nagging injuries mounted.

Green, who signed in May, had been battling a calf strain. He spent four seasons with San Diego but was out of football last year.
