Man gets 5 years for killing fellow inmate

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty to killing a fellow inmate at the Maryland Correctional Institute in a dispute between gangs.

Twenty-eight-year-old Calvin Clayton Lee pleaded guilty on Wednesday to manslaughter in the beating and stabbing of 26-year-old Javaughn Young. The Capital of Annapolis reports (http://bit.ly/1nFu7Xy) that Lee was sentenced to five years in prison in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors say on April 10, 2013, Young stabbed Lee in the head. Authorities say Lee did not seek medical attention or notify officials at the Jessup prison, but beat and stabbed Young the next day.

Young was found lying in a walkway with a head injury. He died shortly after being taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
