Schumacher manager warns on ‘stolen’ records

PARIS (AP) — Michael Schumacher’s manager says stolen medical documents purported to be those of the seven-time Formula One champion are being offered for sale to some media, and warns that their purchase or publication is forbidden.

Sabine Kehm said in a statement Monday that “we cannot judge if these documents are authentic. However, the documents are clearly stolen.” She did not specify.

She said authorities have been notified, and Schumacher’s managers will “press for criminal charges and damages” if the documents and data are made public or even referenced in a report.

After waking from a months-long coma, the 45-year-old Formula One great was transferred last week from a French hospital to one in Lausanne, Switzerland, to continue recovery from a Dec. 29 skiing accident.
