Annapolis seeks donations for July 4 fireworks

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Annapolis is still seeking donations to pay for its July 4 fireworks display, less than two weeks before the holiday.

The Capital (http://bit.ly/1uWEJE8 ) reports funding for the fireworks show comes largely from donations by businesses and citizens.

The fireworks will be launched starting about 9:15 p.m. from a barge in Spa Creek near the Severn River and the U.S. Naval Academy.

The city also is seeking volunteers to help with the Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at Amos Garrett Boulevard and heads down West Street to City Dock.
