Referee Rodriquez gets Italy-Uruguay duty

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — FIFA has picked Marco Rodriquez of Mexico to referee the Italy vs. Uruguay game that will decide which team advances from Group D with Costa Rica.

Rodriquez, who is working at his third World Cup, will referee the match on Tuesday in Natal.

FIFA says Costa Rica vs. England will be refereed by Algeria’s Djamel Haimoudi in Belo Horizonte.

Also on Tuesday, Pedro Proenca of Portugal will referee Group C leader Colombia’s match against Japan in Cuiaba.

Ivory Coast vs. Greece in Fortaleza will be handled by Carlos Vera of Ecuador.

All four referees will be working their second match of the tournament.
