Tagliani wins Road America Nationwide pole

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) — Alex Tagliani has turned a lap of 108.420 mph to win pole position for Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Road America.

Dylan Kwasniewski will start second, followed by Regan Smith, Sam Hornish Jr. and Brendan Gaughan.

Saturday morning’s qualifying was split into two sessions, a 30-minute initial round followed by a 10-minute second round featuring the fastest 12 cars from the first round.

Tagliani, a native of Montreal, is known mostly for his extensive IndyCar racing experience.
