Carpenter named CEO of Boone Newspapers

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Todd H. Carpenter is the new chief executive officer of the Alabama-based Boone Newspapers Inc.

The Tuscaloosa News (http://bit.ly/UgSdPK ) reports the 44-year-old Carpenter will succeed James B. Boone Jr. of Tuscaloosa.

Boone will continue as chairman.

Carpenter has been the corporation’s chief operating officer for 10 years. In the new role he will continue as president and director of Boone Newspapers.

The 44-year-old Carpenter will work from Natchez, Mississippi, where the company owns and operates The Natchez Democrat.

Boone Newspapers manages 59 newspapers, 27 magazines and related digital media products in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.
