Kansas City’s Aoki not in starting lineup

DETROIT (AP) — Kansas City outfielder Nori Aoki is out of the starting lineup Wednesday at Detroit after leaving Tuesday night’s game with left groin discomfort.

Manager Ned Yost describes the injury as a cramp. He says Aoki probably could play Wednesday, but the team doesn’t want to push it. The Royals took over first place in the AL Central with an 11-4 win over the Tigers on Tuesday.

Detroit outfielder Torii Hunter, who has been dealing with a hamstring issue, also is not in the starting lineup.
