Redskins DE Hatcher has knee injury, will have MRI

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher has a knee injury that will keep him out of minicamp.

Coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday that Hatcher has “a little bit of pain, a little bit of swelling,” and will have an X-ray and an MRI.

Gruden said he didn’t know when Hatcher was hurt. The coach said the focus is to make sure Hatcher is ready for training camp, which begins next month.

Minicamp is scheduled to run Tuesday through Thursday.

Hatcher joined the Redskins this year as a free agent from the Dallas Cowboys.
