Jets sign third-round CB McDougle to 4-year deal

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have signed third-round draft pick Dexter McDougle to a four-year deal.

Tuesday night’s contract for the cornerback means all 12 of the Jets’ draft picks are in the fold.

McDougle missed the final nine games at Maryland last season with a shoulder injury. The speedy defensive back was cleared by Jets team doctors last week to participate fully in practice. He worked with the second-team defense during the team’s first minicamp practice Tuesday and drew raves from coach Rex Ryan after breaking up a few passes.

Ryan says: “He’s all business on the field. I think you saw a little bit of why we’re so excited about him and optimistic about him.”

McDougle had three interceptions last season, including one for a touchdown.
