Woman, 2 children found dead in car in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Police and city officials in Hagerstown say a woman and two young children were found dead in a car at a school parking lot.

Erin Wolfe, Hagerstown’s communications director, said in an email Monday evening that police were called to the parking lot of the Western Heights Middle School about 4:40 p.m. Monday.

Police Chief Mark Holtzman tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that the woman and two “very young” children were in the car. Wolfe said the woman was in the front seat and the two children were in the backseat.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Wolfe said there were no apparent signs of violence.
