Indiana transfer Roberson lands at Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Illinois State says former Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson has been added to the Redbirds roster.

Illinois State coach Brock Spack said Monday the 6-foot-3, 203-pound redshirt junior has enrolled and will have two years of eligibility left. Spack said he liked the fact that Roberson can run and throw on the run.

Roberson announced earlier this month he was leaving Indiana. Because Illinois State is a Championship Subdivision school, he’ll be eligible to play right away.

He played in 23 games for the Hoosiers and threw for 20 touchdowns and 2,433 yards on 197-of-330 passing. Roberson broke a leg in 2012 as a sophomore and was granted a medical redshirt.
