DC police arrest junvenile in Metropolitan Branch Trail sex assault

WASHINGTON – D.C. police have charged a boy with assaulting a woman along the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

The boy is accused of intending to commit first degree sexual assault, police say.

Police did not say what led them to the boy and would not say how old he is. He was arrested Tuesday.

The woman was attacked near the 1800 block of 4th Street NE about lunchtime Monday.

WASHINGTON — The D.C. police are looking for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman on the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

A man approached the woman on the trail near 4th and S streets, in Northeast, a little after noon Monday and attempted to assault her before riding away on a dark-colored bicycle.

He’s described as black; about 18 years old; 5 feet, 5 inches tall; with a medium build and medium complexion. He has short hair and facial hair around his chin and was wearing a white tank top and khaki cargo shorts.
