NEWBURG, Md. (AP) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says the body of an 11-year-old girl missing since Friday has been recovered from the Wicomico River in the Newburg area.

The agency says Faith Lee apparently drowned accidentally.

Boaters found her remains Sunday afternoon on the Charles County side of the river. She had been reported missing from neighboring St. Mary’s County.

Deputies say the body has been taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
