Posey exits after taking foul ball off mask

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Giants catcher Buster Posey was lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the fourth inning in San Francisco’s game against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday after taking a foul tip to the face mask.

Posey took a ball off his mask during the top of the inning, which required a visit from the team trainer and Giants manager Bruce Bochy.

Posey, a former NL MVP, was hitting .269 entering play and was 1 for 2 before he was replaced by Hector Sanchez, who hit a home run.
