ATLANTA (AP) — Shortstop Erick Aybar has left the Angels’ game against the Braves with a sore left hip.

Aybar hit his fifth homer in the second inning and also reached on a fielder’s choice in the third inning. John McDonald entered the game at shortstop, replacing Aybar, in the bottom of the third.

The Angels provided no immediate additional details on the severity of Aybar’s injury.

Aybar is hitting .290 with five homers and 37 RBIs.
