Man charged in 2 fatal shootings in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) — Police in Baltimore say they’ve charged a 20-year-old man in connection with two fatal shootings.

Police said Friday that Kevin Simpson faces charges as a result of two shootings that happened in May.

Police say the first shooting happened May 24 in the 2300 block of Frederick Avenue and killed 27-year-old Martel Jackson. The second happened May 26 and killed 16-year-old Oscar Torres and injured a second victim, who was shot in the head. The second victim is expected to survive.

Simpson is charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder, assault, and other related charges.

Simpson was already in custody and was being held on manslaughter charges for another case.
