Man arrested in Frederick vehicle fire

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Police in Frederick have arrested a man they say set fire to a car.

Police say they were called around 7:30 p.m. Friday to the area of Phebus Avenue at Degrange Street for a report of a vehicle fire that they determined was arson.

Police say they arrested 58-year-old Jeffery Lynn Jones in connection with the fire, which did minor damage to the vehicle. Police say Jones knew the owner of the vehicle and that the incident was not a random event.

Jones did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
