Norfolk issues swimming advisory for beach

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A swimming advisory is in effect for Ocean View Park Beach in Norfolk because of bacteria levels.

Media outlets report that the Norfolk Department of Public Health issued the advisory Tuesday for an area between Seabreeze Road and First View Street.

The department says water sampling and testing conducted Tuesday found levels of enterococci bacteria levels that exceed state water quality standards.

Health officials will continue testing the waters and will lift the advisory when bacteria levels meet state standards.
