Former congressman Bartlett endorses David Craig

BALTIMORE (AP) — Harford County Executive David Craig has announced that former Rep. Roscoe Bartlett is endorsing his campaign for governor in the Maryland Republican primary.

Craig announced the endorsement on Wednesday.

In a statement, Bartlett cites Craig’s experience. Craig has served on the Havre de Grace City Council and as its mayor. He also has served a term in both the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate. He has been the Harford County executive since 2005.

Bartlett represented western Maryland for 20 years. He was defeated in 2012.

Craig also has been endorsed by former Republican gubernatorial candidate Ellen Sauerbrey and former Rep. Helen Bentley.
