Silver: ‘Pleased, proud’ attention on NBA Finals

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — NBA Commissioner Adam Silver says he’s thrilled that the league’s attention can be on the finals and not any questions hanging over the league.

With the Donald Sterling matter looking to be essentially over and with the Los Angeles Clippers poised to be sold to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion, the main order of business for the league right now is the actual championship series between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.

Silver discussed the series at an NBA Cares event Friday, one where the league officially opened a “Learn & Play Center” at a San Antonio elementary school. It marked the 897th time the league has opened a facility like that.

Silver is overseeing his first NBA Finals as commissioner.
