Metro to hold auditions for ‘MetroPerforms!’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro is looking for singers, dancers, musicians and poets to entertain at summer performances outside train stations.

Metro’s Art in Transit Program is holding auditions for the “MetroPerforms!” program on Thursday at its headquarters in Washington. The auditions are first-come, first served and will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Performers selected by Metro will get to demonstrate their talents at selected Metrorail station entrances this summer. Artists volunteer their time and may also be selected to perform at the Music on the Mall lunchtime performance series.

The performances will begin on June 9 and end Aug. 29. Performers must pass a background check.
