Transit Advocates Question Daly’s Commitment To Purple Line – At-large Council candidate Beth Daly has run into some friction with local transit activists, who are questioning her commitment to the Purple Line light rail. Board of Education Members To Stop Using Credit Cards – Board of Education members have agreed to stop using their school system-issued credit cards after board member Chris Barclay was found to have misused his multiple times. The Board formed an ad-hoc committee in April to review the “processes and guidelines regarding reimbursable expenses.” [The Gazette]

Council Public Hearing On Capital Crescent Trail – The County Council will hold a hearing on a bill that would allow for $95 million toward rebuilding the Capital Crescent Trail along the Purple Line. The money was inserted into the capital budget this year. Because it’s such a large sum, it must go through a separate public hearing and Council committee process. The hearing is set for 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17 in Rockville. [Montgomery County Council]
