2 arrested in slaying of DC nurse in Va.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities have arrested two people in the slaying of a MedStar Washington Hospital Center nurse at her Virginia home, including the victim’s daughter.

WRC-TV (http://tinyurl.com/nl2s6q8 ) reports that the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests late Friday of 25-year-old Christina Brown and 25-year-old Alaina Mercer, both of King George County. They’ve been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and are being held without bond.

Mercer is the daughter of Nancy Mercer, who was found dead at her Spotsylvania County home after she didn’t show up for work on May 18. Police have not detailed a possible motive in the slaying.
