Baltimore County firefighter dies during training

BALTIMORE (AP) — A longtime Baltimore County firefighter has died after he went into cardiac arrest during a training exercise.

County officials say 58-year-old Robert Fogle III died Friday afternoon while at a training exercise in the Sparrows Point area.

Officials say Fogle was going through a maze while wearing a breathing apparatus, a drill every firefighter does once a year.

His heart stopped beating and he was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Fogle was a 27-year veteran of the department and was stationed in Pikesville. He is survived by a wife and two adult children.
