3 big cigarette thefts reported in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Virginia Beach police are looking for two suspects believed to be responsible for three large thefts of cigarettes at one convenience store since last August.

Police say in a news release the latest incident occurred May 17 at a 7-Eleven in which one suspect distracted clerks while another suspect entered the store office and placed multiple cartons of cigarettes from a storage unit into a trash bag.

The two suspects also are believed to be responsible for the thefts of more than $1,000 of cigarettes at the store on Aug. 25 of last year and Feb. 22 of this year.

Public tips will remain anonymous and would be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
