Shenandoah Valley battlefields group names CEO

NEW MARKET, Va. (AP) — The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation has a new chief executive officer.

Keven Walker was selected from a field of 35 candidates. He served as cultural resources program manager and historian for the past 11 years at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Walker succeeds the retired W. Denman Zirkle.

Among the events Walker will oversee include the sesquicentennial of several Civil War battles.
